Questions

Who can benefit from this massage?

Medical massage is beneficial for individuals dealing with:

- Chronic Pain: Conditions like fibromyalgia, arthritis, and persistent back or neck pain.

-Injury Recovery: Soft tissue injuries, sports-related strains, or post-surgical rehabilitation.

- Postural Imbalances: Issues from prolonged sitting, poor ergonomics, or repetitive strain.

- Nerve-related Conditions: Sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, or thoracic outlet syndrome.

- Headaches & Migraines: Especially those linked to muscle tension or trigger points.

- Joint Mobility Issues: Limited range of motion due to scar tissue or muscular restrictions.

- Stress-related Tension: For those experiencing muscle tightness due to chronic stress.

Is it painful?

Medical massage can involve deep pressure, especially when targeting chronic tension, trigger points, or deep muscle layers. While some discomfort is normal during certain techniques, it should always feel therapeutic—not overwhelming or unbearable.

I work closely with you to ensure the pressure is effective yet tolerable, adjusting as needed based on your feedback. Some areas may feel tender, especially if there’s significant tension, but the goal is to promote relief, not create unnecessary pain. Communication is key to a productive and comfortable session.

How often should I get a Medical Massage?

The frequency of medical massage depends on your specific needs and treatment goals:

  • Acute Pain or Injury Recovery: 1-2 times per week until symptoms improve, then gradually reduce frequency.

  • Chronic Conditions (e.g., back pain, migraines, postural issues): Every 2-4 weeks to manage symptoms and maintain progress.

  • Preventive Care & Maintenance: Once a month to support mobility, reduce tension, and prevent future issues.

  • High-Stress Periods or Intense Training: More frequent sessions (weekly or bi-weekly) may be beneficial.

I’ll work with you to create a personalized plan based on how your body responds to treatment.

Why are sessions 3 hours long?

A 3-hour medical massage allows for a comprehensive, unrushed approach to address complex issues and multiple areas of concern. Here’s why this extended time is beneficial:

- Thorough Assessment & Treatment: It provides ample time to assess your condition, identify problem areas, and apply targeted techniques effectively.

- Multiple Focus Areas: If you have chronic pain, postural imbalances, or tension in several regions (e.g., neck, back, hips), a longer session ensures each area receives the attention it needs.

- Layer-by-Layer Work: Deep tissue and myofascial techniques require time to work through muscle layers without rushing, allowing your body to respond gradually.

- Integrated Modalities: I incorporate various techniques—deep tissue, trigger point therapy, stretching, Dolphin Neurostim, IASTM, and more—which require time to be applied thoughtfully.

- Promotes Lasting Results: Extended sessions allow your nervous system to relax fully, enhancing therapeutic outcomes and reducing the need for frequent follow-ups.

- Unrushed, Personalized Care: You won’t feel rushed, and we can adjust the session based on how your body responds in real-time.

This approach is ideal for clients seeking meaningful, long-term relief rather than quick fixes.
